65 JnU students get NST Fellowship
A total of 65 students from 10 department of Jagannath University (JnU) have been selected for the National Science and Technology (NST) fellowship in the session of 2020-21 which is given by the Ministry of Science and Technology for research.
On 11 January, these informations are known from the list published in website of Ministry of Science and Technology where a total of 3249 selected candidates were selected. Among them 848 candidates were selected in applied science category, 736 candidates were selected in Biology and Medical science category and 1665 candidates selected in Food and Agricultural science category.
Among selected candidates, 46 Jagannath University students selected in applied science category and 19 Jagannath University students selected in biology and medical science category. The selected students for this fellowship will receive Tk 54,000 financial support for their research project.
Among the fellowship students, 20 in the Department of Geography and Environment, 13 in the Department of Chemistry, 6 in the Department of Statistics, 5 in the Department of Physics, 1 in the Department of Mathematics and 1 in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering are selected In the physical science category (MS).
In the Biology and Medical Science (MS) category, 9 students from the Department of Microbiology, 7 students from the Department of Botany, 2 students from the Department of Zoology and 1 student from the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology have received fellowships.
It is to be mentioned that, The Ministry of Science and Technology is providing NST fellowship since fiscal year 1977-78 and this is given to MS, MPhil, PhD level students and researchers studying/researching in public universities/research institutes.
